Client brief
To design and manufacture a handless kitchen.
Challenges
As part of extensive renovations to a 19th century farm house the client requested a modern kitchen with minimalist features.
Bespoke approach
The unusual shape of the kitchen and general plan of the ground floor helped to dictate the overall layout. The room was not wide enough to accommodate an Island so a peninsula seating area was designed to breakup the kitchen from the dining area. To give a lighter feel to the peninsula it is completely open underneath. To help the kitchen flow into the lounge area the Oak worktop wraps around a supporting wall to accommodate book shelving underneath in the lounge area.
Time frame
4-6 weeks from agreement of final design.
Finishing Touches
Work-surface is Solid white oak finished in Danish oil, with White Star Astro laminate under the window area. Farrow and Ball Worsted lacquered finish on handless doors.
